It feels good to ride on trails that you help build! Secretary of the club, Cortland Findlay and Vice President, Jim Findlay, rode out for a quick ride Wednesday evening to reap the reward of all their hard work.

Trails were flat and hard. A great base. While the temps were in the teens which was warmer than what we’ve seen lately, the hard pack trail didn’t provide much lubrication and cooling. Near the end of the quick ride with no ice scratchers, Cortland’s 2015 Polaris Axys Switchback was reaching temps around 175. With limited to no snow in the forecast, ice scratchers are a must to keep your sled and hyfax cool.

To end the quick and dirty shake down ride, they stopped for dinner at the Mug restaurant, conveniently off of the Meeting house trail from downtown Meredith.

Overall Cortland and Jim were surprised with how great the base is considering our snowfall total this year, and how the trails have held up since grooming started this past Monday.
