Winter is here and our first ride report is here with it. Yesterday one of our club members went out on an 85 mile ride starting right here in Meredith. We took off by the train station and headed west on 300 towards New Hampton and the Mohawk Trail Riders system. From there we crossed the Pemi River towards 150. We jumped on the Bridgewater Moutain Club trails where conditons (and views) were fantastic!
The next stop was the Hardy Country Club system. Once again, conditions were awesome. What these clubs have done with such little snow is remarkable.
Moving along, we headed up towards Plymouth/Rumney passing by the wind turbines. This secton of trail is wide, fast, and SO much fun. The turbines are massive and if you haven’t seen one up close, they are such a cool sight to be seen.
Once off the mountain, these straights head over to Plymouth. The Rumney Snow Drifters maintain these trails, and boy were they smooth. We headed to downtown Plymouth and over to Squam Lake. We had to ride a small section of RR tracks (Corridor 8) to get from the Common Man to 204. Luckily the tracks were manageable, and you can now use the walking path on the bridge to the right when leaving Common Man rather than navigating the tracks on the RR bridge.
The trails through Squam were also in excellent condition thanks to the work of the Squam Trail Busters. We finished our ride on the Mug Trail and decided to end this successful 85 mile round trip by checking out the new trail to Twin Barns Brewing Company. There’s no better way to cap off a great day on the sled than with some locally crafted beers.
Here’s the map of the loop.
Snowmobile season is here. Conditions are fair to great depending on the area and elevation. Scratchers are a necessity. The clubs have been working hard to keep things in shape. Get outside and enjoy while it lasts!
To learn more about the surrounding clubs we rode through today, check out the following:

If you haven’t done so, make sure to check out the new NHSA Trail Map app. It was our first time using it and it works great!!
Until next time…remember to ride right, watch your speed, and donate to your local club. Cheers!
